March 4 - International freight forwarder Kuehne + Nagel International AG has accepted the request of Reinhard Lange, ceo of the Kuehne + Nagel Group, to release him from his duties because of health reasons, effective May 7, 2013.

The board of directors accepted Lange's request. He has served in the position since 2009 and will continue to work with the international forwarder in a consultancy role until December 31, 2013.
A management team under the leadership of Karl Gernandt, chairman of Kuehne + Nagel International, has begun its search for a new Group ceo. Gernandt will takeover the tasks of Lange until a replacement is installed.
Lange has worked with the Kuehne + Nagel Group for over 40 years. He started his career with the company in Bremen, Germany. Lange joined the management boards in Asia-Pacific and Germany before being appointed to the management board of Kuehne + Nagel International in 1999.
