DHL Global Forwarding has appointed Martyn Lawns as ceo of its Industrial Projects division (DHL IP).
Lawns stepped up as interim ceo following the departure of Ryan Foley earlier this year. He has over two decades of experience in global logistics and procurement and is tasked with expanding DHL’s capabilities in sectors driving the energy transition and infrastructure development.
According to DHL, he has played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s footprint in complex project logistics, leading global sector teams focused on mining, oil and gas, and renewable energy across more than 45 countries.
Lawns currently also serves as senior vice president, growth initiative – new energy. He will continue to lead the group-wide initiative, which is focused on positioning the company at the forefront of emerging sectors such as electric vehicles, battery supply chains and renewable energy logistics.
Foley, meanwhile, has been appointed senior vice president of projects at Blue Water Shipping, effective January 1, 2026.
