Crane manufacturer Liebherr has opened a subsidiary in the port of Hamburg.

The sales and service centre, located in the Kuhwerder Harbour, comprises a 2,160 sq m workshop; a 1,080 sq m store; an open storage area covering 10,000 sq m; and a four-storey office building.

Jörg Schmidt, managing director of Liebherr-MCCtec Vertriebs und Service, said: “The harbour in Hamburg is our central hub for rental and buy-back machines, as well as for all kinds of repairs for the European area.”

Liebherr added that the location offers easy access to motorways, railways, a public transport network and has direct water access via three quays.
