UK-based MAC Group has launched two companies within its portfolio: MAC Projects and MAC Heavy Lift.
Although both companies have been operating in a limited capacity in their respective markets for several years, both firms will have the full focus of MAC Group founder and managing director Liam McLoughlin. He said: “While MAC Projects and MAC Heavy Lift have had an intermittent presence on various projects in the UK and overseas, 2026 will showcase our capabilities.”

Focusing on the power generation and storage sectors in the UK and Ireland, MAC Projects will chiefly offer lifting, logistics and engineering project services to transformer OEM, distribution network operators (DNO) and site principals who are involved in the refurbishment of existing and creation of new substations. It will also offer project related storage at locations beneficial for various UK projects.
MAC Heavy Lift, meanwhile, will build on the strong ties that it has built in the UK and overseas, in which it will provide feasibility studies and optioneering for heavy lift and heavy transport projects. Along with providing assurance and compliance auditing, MAC Heavy Lift conracts for heavy lift and transport operations such as modular axles, SPMTs, gantry and skid systems, as well as crawler and mobile cranes.
The latter has committed to undertake consultancy on projects at Ras Abu Fontas and Dukan in Qatar, whilst also developing tender and bid review and contract managing for an energy project in New Jersey, USA. On this, McLaughlin added: “We hope to add further transatlantic projects to our portfolio in the coming months too.”
