The Mammoet-Haisla joint venture has been awarded heavy lift and heavy haul contracts for the LNG Canada project in Kitimat, British Columbia.

Mammoet Canada partnered with the Haisla Nation in the north coast region of British Columbia in October 2018, as HLPFI reported here. The Kitimat-based operation was awarded the contracts by the joint venture between JGC Corporation and Fluor.

The project scope includes receiving all oversize equipment and modules, transporting the cargoes to the project site and lifting the units onto final foundations. The three-year project will see Mammoet-Haisla handle more than 350,000 tonnes of equipment; the largest items will weigh in excess of 10,000 tonnes each.

The first phase of the project is set to commence in January 2021. Until then, Mammoet-Haisla will continue to support the preparatory works through the offloading of incoming pipe piles.
