Russia’s North-Western Shipping Company has merged with Volga Shipping Company.

North-Western Shipping Company, which specialises in the transport of dry bulk, general and project cargo on Russia’s inland waterway network, will now operate under the Volga Shipping Company brand.

Yury Gilts, managing director of Volga Shipping Company, said that the merged fleet comprises 236 cargo ships, with a total deadweight exceeding 1.4 million tonnes, as well as three ship repair facilities.
