UK-headquartered winch specialist Rotrex Winches has rebranded as LGH Winches across the UK, the Netherlands and Belgium, effective May 1, 2025.
The rebranding aligns with the strategic plan for closer collaboration between Rotrex and Lifting Gear Hire (LGH) with the aim of enhancing their market presence under one globally recognised brand.
For Rotrex, it marks a return to its former name having been part of the LGH group since 1993. It rebranded as the Rotrex Group following LGH’s departure from the UK market to focus on North America and Europe in 2007. With LGH re-entering the UK market in 2017, the two brands have increasingly collaborated, sharing teams, warehouses, knowledge and services.
Going forward, the business structure will stay the same with both operating independently as two separate legal entities with their own dedicated teams but under a unified brand.
“This transition marks a major step forward for our Group. Over the years, we’ve grown stronger together, and this move reinforces our ability to serve customers under one unified global brand,” said Andy Mault, group ceo at LGH Europe and Rotrex Group.
The business move is one that has been put down to a natural crossover between the two in terms of market sectors, sales activities, and product offerings. LGH will leverage its position across Europe – namely in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium – to boost the winch division’s influence across the region.
This will be supported by the appointment of Don Wilkinson as group sales director, overseeing the sales functions for both Rotrex and LGH across Europe. He joined Rotrex in 2016 and served in several key positions including operations manager and general manager, before taking on the role of sales director in 2023.
