Lifting and moving equipment hire company Lifting Gear Hire (LGH) has launched in Australia, with its headquarters opening in Somersby, Central Coast, New South Wales.
The company’s Australian business will offer rentals for the likes of hoists and clamps, jacking products such as hydraulic rams, rigging equipment which includes slings and modular spreader beams, along with general material handling gear. Initial focus will be on New South Wales, however its fleet will be available throughout the country.
LGH has chosen to expand into Australia due to market sizes across the country’s construction, infrastructure, mining, energy, petrochemical, marine, and offshore. Its team will start out with eight employees.
“Our expansion into Australia is the biggest step the business has taken since expanding outside of the UK to open our first rental hub in Chicago, USA in 1990,” said Ian Parkinson, chairman of LGH. “Not only is the economy [of Australia] growing, but investment in the country’s infrastructure, manufacturing, construction, and defence sectors continues to be robust, so we believe that we can play our part in helping these dynamic sectors to thrive.”
He added: “We would have loved to come to Australia sooner, but we knew the timing and the level of investment had to be right.”
Earlier this month, HLPFI reported that Rotrex Winches rebranded as LGH Winches.
