Sarens has opened a crane depot in Orléans, France, which will supply cranes on a rental basis for clients in the nuclear energy and civil engineering sectors.
Hydraulic cranes with a capacity up to 700 tonnes, and lattice boom cranes, with a payload up to 300 tonnes, will be based at the facility.
Sarens explained: “Orléans [is] an important service centre for the nuclear sector in France. Its advantageous location with some of the major nuclear plants located in the vicinity as well as proximity to Paris, makes it the best location to serve the sector and also serve our clients in the south of Paris.
Meanwhile, at the company’s headquarters and warehouses in Belgium, Sarens has installed 2,886 solar panels on the roofs as part of ongoing green initiatives.
With a total investment of around EUR1 million (USD1.1 million), the solar panels can produce up to 575 kWh electricity in an hour. The installation will cover around 60 percent of the electricity needs of the facilities at Sarens’ headquarters.
Sarens said: “We will continue to invest more in green energy. We will allocate another EUR250,000 (USD273,833) in solar panels at otherSarens locations in Belgium. By 2024, we aim to further invest in solar panels, as well as wind turbines, with a goal of producing electricity for the yearly consumption of at least 2,000 households.”
