Paul Smith has been appointed country head of Geodis Project Logistics for the UK and Ireland.
He brings more than 35 years of experience across the freight forwarding, marine and transportation sectors to the role, including a strong track record in industrial and infrastructure project logistics.
Smith was managing director – UAE and regional director WEMEA at Geodis from 2020-2022, before joining Martin Bencher and subsequently Maersk, where he was most recently head of project logistics IMEA region.
HLPFI reported last month that Geodis had signed a strategic interline agreement with cargo airlines Atlas Air and mas. In November 2025, Geodis joined the European I3FLOAT consortium.
