Global logistics provider Geodis has signed a strategic interline agreement with cargo airlines Atlas Air and mas, expanding its airfreight network across South America.

Strengthening Geodis’ airfreight network in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica and Panama, the partnership increases the company’s ability to offer direct connection from the Asian Pacific region via Mexico, expanding freighter capacity, reliability and reach for customers. The collaboration allows for efficient cargo transfers from flights operated by the three partners.

“Airfreight demand in and out of Central and South America has grown by more than 30 percent over the last 12 months. This interline agreement reinforces our commitment to providing customers with a broader, more reliable network and increased capacity,” said Henri Le Gouis, executive vice president, global freight forwarding at Geodis.

Following this partnership, Geodis is looking to continue expanding its network throughout the region.

Last month, Geodis joined the I3FLOAT consortium, a European initiative co-funded by the EU aiming to bring about innovation in floating offshore wind.
