October 6 - The Van Beest Group - manufacturer of Tycan, Excel and Green Pin lifting equipment - has acquired Iserlohn, Germany-based Heuer Hebetechnik.

Heuer Hebetechnik, which will be an independent company within Van Beest, supplies a complete range of heavy-duty crane hooks of various sizes, and provides customisation of its hooks to customer specifications.

Van Beest says that it has traditionally been strong in below-the-hook fittings and has based its growth strategy in large part on an expansion to crane hooks.

The acquisition of Heuer Hebetechnik contributes to that expansion, says Van Beest, due to its strength in Germany, a key market with many leading original equipment manufacturers (OEM).

Last month, Van Beest announced the acquisition of the majority of shares of Irizar Forge, a Spain-based manufacture of heavy-duty crane hooks, blocks and related accessories, as HLPFI reported here.

Prior to the purchase of shares of Irizar Froge, Van Beest acquired Load Solutions, adding the  Tycan brand to its product portfolio.
