Somalev and Yılnak signed the MoU on September 29, 2025.

The alliance will deliver transport, installation and assembly services for renewable energy and infrastructure projects across Northwest Africa and Southern Europe. It combines Yılnak’s expertise in oversized transport and wind energy logistics with Somalev’s operational base in Morocco.

As part of the collaboration, the companies will build on the 2024-launched Yılnak Academy to establish the Yılnak & Somalev Academy in Morocco.

Accredited by the Turkish Ministry of Transport and shortlisted for the Safety and Training Award at the Heavy Lift Awards 2025, the Yılnak Academy is an eight-week training programme that combines theoretical instruction with field simulations and real equipment use.

It was designed to address the shortage of qualified drivers in the heavy transport industry, with this latest expansion aiming to develop a highly skilled workforce equipped to meet the challenges of tomorrow’s renewable energy landscape.

Ömer Gece, Yılnak’s managing director, said the Yılnak & Somalev Academy will “train and certify future engineers and operators to international standards, ensuring sustainable growth for the industry”.

“This partnership represents more than cooperation – it is a joint vision to shape the future of heavy lift and renewable energy logistics in Africa and beyond,” he added.
