January 30 - A 92 tonne machine which is used to empty rail wagons laden with mineral ores and was manufactured by Robert Nyblad GmbH of Papenburg, Germany, has moved through the city's port on route to Gabon.

Robert Nyblad products include extremely large ring motors with individual weights of about 500 tonnes, sluice gates and turning machines (pictured below).

Using the machine shipped to Gabon, fully laden wagons can be turned on their sides and emptied, without disconnecting individual wagons during the turning procedure.

In Gabon, the machines are used to unload mined ore which has been transported by rail to the seaport for loading onto bulk vessels.

The machine was loaded with the support of two heavy-duty cranes onto a multi-purpose ship from Amasus Shipping.

Papenburg is one of the ports represented by Seaports of Niedersachsen.
