The British International Freight Association (BIFA) is launching an online training course to help prepare its members to operate HM Revenue and Customs’ (HMRC) latest declaration platform.
Customs Declaration Service (CDS) will serve as the UK’s single Customs platform from the end of March 2023, replacing the CHIEF system in a phased transition ending in April 2023. As such, BIFA has developed the e-learning course in conjunction with Agency Sector Management UK (ASM) to help its members understand the new system.
The course consists of eight modules including an introduction to CDS, the data elements required, and the UK Trade Tariff and Customs procedure codes. The training course will provide hands-on tuition, practical exercises and a technical resource, finishing with an assessment.
The course can be found here and will become available from September 2021.
