The British International Freight Association (BIFA) held its 2023 Freight Service Awards at the Brewery in London yesterday, revealing the winners of its 11 award categories.

Freight Service Awards 2024 winners

Of particular interest to HLPFI readers was the Project Forwarding award, sponsored by Macbeth Insurance Brokers, which went to Hemisphere Freight Services. The shortlist for this category included Brunel Shipping & Liner Services, Peters & May, and Ucargo, which was highly commended by the judges. 

In the Staff Development category, sponsored by Albacore Systems, OIA Global was triumphant, beating finalists DHL Global Forwarding, Kranlee Logistics, Uniserve Holdings and Unsworth UK.

In Air Cargo Services, sponsored by IAG Cargo, deugro (UK) was victorious; while Woodland Global took home the trophy for the Ocean Services award, sponsored by Port Express

In the Specialist Services category, sponsored by Thyme IT, the winner was Seafast Logistics, while Kerry Logistics (UK) was revealed as the winner of the Supply Chain Management category, sponsored by BoxTop Technologies.  

A brand new category for the Freight Services Awards – the Sustainable Logistics and the Environment award, sponsored by American Airlines Cargo – went to Woodland Group. Maersk Logistics and Services UK was highly commended by the judges in that category.  

The Extra Mile award, sponsored by Descartes, went to Hogg Global Logistics and the European Logistics category, sponsored by TT Club, awarded to Atlantic Pacific Global Logistics.  

Winner of the Apprentice of the Year category, which was sponsored by Menzies, was Cameron Smith (Ligentia). Meanwhile, Christopher Carter from Peterson impressed the judges with his commitment to the industry to win the Young Freight Forwarder of the Year category, which is sponsored by Virgin Atlantic Cargo.
