December 2 - Langh Ship Cargo Solutions has developed and introduced a 40-foot hard open top cradle container (HOTCC) which will delliver a completely new solution for the shipment of large steel coils.
To date, stowage of large steel coils on a ship's weather deck had been considered impossible.
However, Langh Ship says that large steel coils weighing 26 tonnes have been successfully loaded into its 40-foot HOTCCs then stowed on the weather deck of a container vessel. In total, says Langh Ship, it is possible to load 160 tonnes of steel coils into one single 40-foot HOTCC.
