September 7 - Danish Project Cargo Network (PCN) member, Fairplay Shipping recently oversaw the movement of four out-of-gauge (OOG) CO2 production units by truck from Denmark to Bremen, Germany, before being shipped to Algiers, Algeria.

The two largest components weighed 28 tonnes each, whilst the other units weighed 20 tonnes and 1.1 tonnes respectively.

Elsewhere, PCN member based in Russia, Finland and Estonia, Gold Star Consulting has delivered oil refinery equipment consisting of 64 packages from Chieti Scalo, Italy via Lubeck Port to Saint Petersburg Port, Russia.

Some of the main OOG units weighed as much as 57 tonnes.

C.H. Robinson Project Logistics and Belgium-based PCN member, Europe Cargo have teamed up to handle the transportation of a gearbox weighing over 90 tonnes and measuring 9.58 m x 4.5 m x 3.35 m from Ausburg, Germany to Joffre, Canada.

The cargo was transported from Germany to the Port of Antwerp for onward shipment to Canada, where the gearbox was transported to the project site using a hydraulic trailer.

Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) has handled the return shipment of a rail wagon vacuum system from Khalifa Port, UAE to Genoa Port, Italy.

The WSS UAE project team arranged the required cranes and forklifts as well as the rigging, lashing and securing on site of the rail wagons, vacuum system machine, vacuum generator and accessories.

In South Africa, PCN members Afriguide Logistics oversaw the delivery of a 200-tonne heat recovery steam generator system to a project site in Pretoria, via Durban.

A total of 65 components were shipped from Genoa, Italy and Mersin, Turkey. The larger units were transported as ro-ro cargo loaded onto Mafi trailers. The project was delivered and erected over a period of two weeks.

Coordinadora Internacional de Cargas, members in Spain has transported two oversized components on separate vessels from the Port of Bilbao in northern Spain to the Port of Lüderitz, Namibia.

The first shipment comprised of six pieces, each weighing over 300 tonnes, and the second shipment comprised of two pieces each weighing 235 tonnes.
