G.A.P. Vassilopoulos Group has appointed Richard Jones as its oil and gas solutions specialist.
Headquartered in Cyprus, G.A.P Vassilopoulos provides a range of services supporting the oil and gas industry, including ship agency, logistics (including freight forwarding, Customs clearance and warehousing), base management, marine services, and workforce solutions. The company’s oil and gas logistics division provides end-to-end offshore and onshore solutions in accordance with the highest health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) standards.
Jones joins G.A.P Vassilopoulos from Röhlig Logistics, where he served as director of projects. He has more than 30 years of experience in the industry and has also held senior roles at DHL Industrial Projects and FH Bertling.
Commenting on his new role, Jones said: “The potential for the oil and gas sector in Cyprus is very promising and the next couple of years will see a lot of investment. G.A.P Vassilopoulos Group is in a strong position to service these opportunities.”
In addition to recent exploration success in the eastern Mediterranean Basin, the adjacent Israeli offshore fields have also produced positive results with projects in both the upstream and downstream sectors materialising, said Jones.
