Obituary: Horst Felbermayr Senior

Horst Felbermayr Senior, owner of Austrian crane, access and heavy transport company Felbermayr, passed away on March 13 at the age of 75.

Horst Senior ran the business for almost 50 years before becoming chairman of the supervisory board in 2015.

In a tribute, the company said: “With his energy and determination, he has contributed to the success of the Felbermayr group of companies. We all lose a great entrepreneurial personality, a loving father and a person who has always had vision without losing sight of the essential and feasible.

“He will always be remembered as a husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather as well as a friend and company boss and will serve as a role model.”

In addition to his work in the specialised transport sector, Horst was a well-known racing driver who competed at Le Mans on six occasions.
