Measuring 14 m x 4.8 m x 4.5 m, the turbine generator was transported from a facility in Peterborough using a specialist trailer in a 16-axle configuration. Prior to the move, Allelys completed route studies to identify a suitable route and potential pinch points and coordinated with all the relevant authorities.

Once the turbine generator was loaded and lashed onto the modular trailer and completed its journey to the port of Sutton Bridge, Allelys deployed its LG1550 crane to offload the unit onto a coaster vessel headed for Antwerp. From there, it will be transported to Singapore.

“The 35-mile (56.3-km) road journey took a total of 3.5 hours travel time and the entire journey was meticulously monitored by our transportation team to ensure safe and successful delivery,” explained Shahid Islam, project manager at Allelys. “For this operation, our team undertook the complete full-service solution, including engineering, route surveys, project management, transportation and lifting.”
