BigLift Shipping has finished its role in the Marine XII project off the coast of Pointe Noire in the Republic of Congo, marking a “milestone” in the company’s subsea and offshore journey.
BigLIft’s B-type heavy lift vessel Brouwersgracht played a crucial role in the transportation and installation of a high-capacity base and yoke system for Eni’s floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) operations. BigLift said it carried out this complex operation in close partnership with Geocean, managing both transport and installation.
The base and the yoke weighed more than 700 tonnes and the project was executed on a tight timeline; from the start of the engineering phase in April 2024 to the successful offshore installation in June 2025, the project was completed safely, on time and to specification, said BigLift.
“Marine XII is more than just a technical achievement; it represents a strategic leap forward for Spliethoff. It showcases the offshore capabilities of our B-type vessels and establishes a solid foundation for future involvement in the subsea and offshore energy sectors,” said the company.
