Blue Water Shipping has coordinated the loading of nine restored wind turbines on SAL Heavy Lift’s vessel Annegret at Denmark’s port of Esbjerg, in preparation for the shipment’s onward journey to Bari, Italy.

The turbines have a blade diameter of 80 m and, now restored, have a lifespan of more than 20 years.  

Blue Water’s stevedoring team and the client were responsible for preparing the goods, transporting them to the quay side and loading them onto the ship. Blue Water said it also acted as agents for the vessel. 

Blue Water noted that around 85-95 percent of a wind turbine can be recycled. However, many investors still choose new components. It added that the market for recycled components is filled with potential to become even more sustainable.
