The heaviest parts – the 98-tonne generator and hub – had to be lifted using the two 250-tonne capacity cranes in a tandem operation, unloading the components from a 70 m-long barge.

During these tandem lifts, the coordination of the two drivers was crucial in order to lift the load safely and set it down again on the heavy-duty vehicle. A single crane was sufficient for the lighter nacelle and, after just two hours, all three components were unloaded and placed on the low-loaders.

From the port of Berenbusch, the components were delivered to the construction site in Porta Westfalica. Two cranes were already waiting there to unload and then assemble the units.

For Jandt Kranvermietung, it was the first major project for one of the LTM 1250-5.1 cranes, which was recently added to its fleet.
