Germany-based Maxikraft Group has transported and installed a storage tank at a chemical plant in Schkopau.

The 108-tonne steel tank, measuring 33 m in length, had to be moved through the factory site from its assembly area to its installation location in the plant.

Along the route, the tank had to be hoisted over a 12-m tall pipe bridge. Maxikraft utilised two of its Liebherr cranes – an LTM 1500-8.1 and an LTM 1750-9.1 – to lift the unit off a lowloader trailer and over the obstacle.

Once at the installation site, a 750-tonne capacity Liebherr LG 1750 lattice boom crane was used with the LTM 1500-8.1 to position the tank in an upright position. It was then hoisted over a 16 m tall concrete wall prior to installation.
