Malaysia-based Megalift Transport is handling the transport of equipment for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project via Kuantan port and Port Klang.

Six locomotives, measuring 22 m x 3.3 m x 4.74 m and weighing 150 tonnes each, have arrived at Kuanton port, while 95 wagons weighing 24 tonnes each are in place at Port Klang. The wagons measure 14.1 m x 3.18 m x 1.43 m. All of the cargoes will be delivered in batches to the project site in Kuantan.

Megalift is also coordinating the import of tamping machines at Port Klang, plus 12,000 tonnes of rails at Kuanton port to support the 665 km-long railway project.

The tamping machines measure 17 m x 3.15 m x 3.41 m and weigh 48 tonnes, while the rails (8,000 pieces in total) measure 25 m long.
