Transport engineering and heavy lift specialist Sarens was on hand at Vietnam’s Phu My fertiliser plant, delivering key heavy lifting services during a critical maintenance shutdown.

Sarens’ scope of work included heavy lifting operations within a congested and operationally sensitive fertiliser facility operated by PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemical Company (PVFCCo).
With a tight schedule to work with, Sarens deployed its CC6800 crawler crane, configured with a 78 m SSL boom and a maximum capacity of 1,250 tonnes. Assembled onsite with limited space and safety constraints aplenty, Sarens carried out lifts of equipment weighing up to 106 tonnes, with some lifts taking place in a highly flammable environment.
“The lifting team plays a critical role in handling heavy-load lifting and equipment relocation activities,” said Huynh Nhat Truong, project manager at Sarens. “Our work requires high precision, strict risk control, and close coordination with all parties throughout the project.”
HLPFI reported last week that Sarens had flagged the pressures that are reshaping the onshore energy projects.
