Antonov Airlines, Kuehne+Nagel (K+N) and Andritz collaborated to deliver 60 tonnes of machinery from Tallinn, Estonia, to a pulp mill in Chile.

A critical slewing stacker at Arauco’s MAPA pulp mill in Chile suffered a severe breakdown and Andritz was contracted to supply machinery required to get the plant back up and running.
An AN-124-100 was chartered to move seven pieces, the largest of which weighed approximately 20 tonnes. Key components were manufactured in Estonia, with additional shipments from Finland, Germany and China. “The parts were critical for the repair works and needed to get to the mill fast for the scheduled shutdown period,” said Tiina Penttilä, vice president of logistics, Andritz Pulp & Paper. “This particular delivery required specialist planning to ensure the oversized equipment was delivered with extreme care and on time.”
Andritz said that there was just 3.5 months between receiving the order and getting the plant back online.
