Antwerp scores tank hat-trick

May 18 - Brabo, the Port of Antwerp's heavy lift floating crane, was put to use handling three gas bullet tanks weighing 382 tonnes each on behalf of freight forwarder, MaxTrans.

The tanks, which were manufactured by Ellimetal, were transported from Ghent and discharged at Evonik Oxeno's facility, then moved to Oiltanking Stolhaven for installation underground.

Each tank was 74 m in length and 8 m in diameter and will be used in the production of isobutene at a new facility being constructed by Evonik Oxeno, which should be operational by the end of 2010.
