Davies Crane adds Grove duo

November 24 - UK crane rental company Davies Crane Hire has added two long boom Grove all terrain cranes to its fleet.

Davies Crane's 100-tonne capacity GMK4100L-1 will be based at the company's main depot in Carmarthen, south Wales, while its 300-tonne capacity GMK6300L will operate out of Davies Crane's Port Talbot location.

The GMK6300L has an 80 m main boom that can be extended up to 117 m. It also features a heavy-duty jib with a 38-tonne capacity for extra lift capacity at height.

For the GMK4100L-1, the maximum main boom is 60 m and this can be extended up to 86 m with the full jib addition.

June 5 - A fire broke out aboard Höegh Autoliners’ ro-ro vessel Höegh Xiamen yesterday (June 4) at Blount Island, Jacksonville, USA; there are no injuries to any of the 21 crew members, who have all been evacuated from the vessel.
