August 12 - On August 7, 2013 the Port of Vancouver USA welcomed the newbuild Austral Asia Line vessel, AAL Hong Kong, on her maiden voyage from Shanghai, China.

The 31,123 dwt vessel was built in China and launched on June 25, 2013. AAL Hong Kong is a new generation multipurpose vessel with a maximum lifting capacity of 700 tonnes and an overall length of 193.85 m.
 
Upon arrival at Port of Vancouver, AAL Hong Kong discharged 26 three-piece wind towers manufactured by Vestas, before returning to China.
 
Austral Asia Line has named Norton Lilly International as the vessel agent.
 
Captain Zeljko Presecan of Croatia commanded the vessel on the voyage, and his 22-member team was welcomed to Vancouver by Tommy Hayes, port captain for AAL; Ion Badea, Jim Horne and Beth Sanchez of Norton Lilly International; Mike Titone from Columbia River Steamship Operators Association (CRSOA); and representatives from the Port of Vancouver USA.
