June 20 - AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) has recorded a 31 percent year-on-year increase in tonnage during May and the first five months of 2016.

The airline carried 50,482 tonnes in May and 238,154 tonnes in the first five months of the year. ABC increased its freight tonne kilometres (FTK) by 21 percent in May and 24 percent in the opening five months of the year.

ABC has introduced flights to Houston and Abu Dhabi, and has increased it services to Africa through a cooperation with CargoLogicAir (CLA). It has also added third weekly frequencies to Singapore and Munich.

"Our figures for May are a good indicator of our performance as they demonstrate that our sales and business forces are targeted in the right direction. Despite flat market conditions and depressive yields, we have seen confident support from our clients and this has bolstered our operations and ensured further growth," said ABC executive president Denis Ilin.
