October 5 - Abnormal Load Services' (ALS) construction and plant team coordinated the transportation of a large Komatsu D475A dozer base unit, along with loose parts, in the UK last week.

The 108-tonne machine used in surface and open pit mining, quarries and construction is one of the largest bulldozer in the Komatsu range, measuring 11.56 m x 5.26 m x 4.56 m.

The unit had been shipped over from Japan and ALS arranged onward delivery to a customer in Scotland, on behalf of Komatsu.

The unit was transported to the Scottish project site using an 8 x 4, 150-tonne tractor unit and a Nooteboom trailer setup consisting of five trailers and two beams, said ALS.

HLPFI reported on September 19 that Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics' Abnormal Load Services (WWL ALS) has rebranded as ALS. The rebranded company remains a part of the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) group.
