April 29 - The port of Antwerp saw Q1 2014 conventional breakbulk traffic fall 9.1 percent year-on-year over the same period of 2013 to 2,407,726 tonnes.

Steel products shipments declined during the first two months of 2014, although volumes rallied sharply during March. 1,560,753 tonnes of steel was handled in total during Q1 2014, representing a 5.5 percent decline compared to Q1 2013.

The drop in conventional cargoes, says port of Antwerp, is a trend that is being felt in neighbouring countries.
