APM Terminals has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Andhra Pradesh, India, committing to invest up to USD1 billion to modernise the state’s port and terminal infrastructure.

The agreement aims to position Andhra Pradesh as India’s “logistics hub of the East” and under the plan, APM Terminals will support the development of new terminals and advise on port project structures. A joint working committee between APM Terminals and the Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board will be established by Q3 2025 to drive the initiative forward.

Currently, the state has five operational non-major ports and four greenfield ports that will be operational by 2026. APM Terminals has been present in India since 2004 and operates two key assets: Gujarat Pipavav port, located at Amreli District of Gujarat, and Gateway Terminals India, located at the JNPA port in Maharashtra.
