Back to the classroom at Breakbulk Asia

December 13 - Next month's third annual Breakbulk Asia Transportation Conference & Exhibition in Singapore is offering two opportunities for industry professionals to brush up their training or to acquire new skills that can lead to accreditation and form

The Global Projects Logistics Network (GPLN) is holding a "course designed specifically for project professionals who would like to sharpen their technical skills and gain a recognised professional certification from the industry's best known project logistics organisation," says Gary Dale Cearley, GPLN executive director.

The course leader is professional engineer Gert Vos and the five main topics of the seminar, to be held on January 27, 2011, are heavy lift, exceptional transport, load securing, lifting with hydraulic lifting gantry and strand jacks and creating checklists for project forwarders. Participants will also learn about the new Incoterms 2010.

Meanwhile, in the second course, project forwarders can kick-start their employees' professional development by registering them for the Certificate of Achievement in Project Cargo Management training course in Singapore from January 27-28, says the course developers, over-dimensional cargo network, the Project Professionals Group(PPG).

Course presenter Kevin Stephens says the training was specifically tailored towards ensuring employees had the confidence and skills to tackle the demands of increasingly complex project cargos. "This course is non-technical and was developed by industry for industry and blends project cargo training and management tips with professional communication skills," Stephens says.
