March 25 - An official spokesman for Beluga has confirmed that the German public prosecutor's office and police visited the company's Bremen HQ this week looking for evidence of possible fraud, but declined to comment on whether any evidence was either di

The police visit follows this week's news that more subsidiaries of Beluga had filed for insolvency, following last week's filings by Beluga Shipping and Beluga Chartering.

HLPFI readers will already be aware that an investigation has been launched by the state prosecutor's office into allegations of serious "irregularities" regarding Beluga group turnover and liquidity, which was
set off by complaints from one of the company's major investors, Oaktree Capital.

HLPFI understands that Beluga Group's founder and former chief executive Niels Stolberg has already been questioned by local police.
