Multipurpose shipping line Chipolbrok has held a naming ceremony for its latest 62,000 dwt vessel, De An.
The seventh vessel in the shipping line’s eight-strong 62,000 dwt series, De An has a lifting capacity of 300 tonnes, a deck space of 166 m x 30 m and five holds/hatches that offer approximately 75,000 cu m of under deck space.
”De An is ready to take on various kinds of bulk cargo and especially heavy and oversized units to be carried around the world,” said Chipolbrok.
The vessel’s maiden voyage will be the transport of renewable energy equipment to Adabiyah in Egypt from China. The shipment forms part of a large project that Chipolbrok will support with regular sailings upcoming.
The sixth vessel in the series, Boym, joined the fleet last year.
