AD Ports Group has signed a preliminary agreement to develop and operate a multipurpose terminal at the port of Matadi in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The heads of terms were signed by Jean-Pierre Bemba Gombo, the DRC’s deputy prime minister and minister of transport and communications, and Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, managing director and group chief executive of AD Ports Group.

Under the agreement, the parties will explore the development of a multipurpose terminal at Matadi, with a focus on expanding capacity and improving operational performance as the country’s trade volumes grow.
