Cosco places semi-sub order 

Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers has placed an order with Guangzhou Shipyard International for the construction of a semi-submersible vessel. 

The ship will have a total length of 216.7 m and a width of 43 m, said Cosco, which currently operates seven semi-submersible vessels.

The multipurpose shipping arm of Cosco Group added that the design of the newbuild aims to enhance the ship’s stability, automation, manoeuvrability and loading performance.

The signing ceremony (pictured above) was held at the Nansha plant area of Guangzhou Shipyard.
