February 6 - DAHER-HCS has handled the transport of a 243-tonne transformer to a loading station in Leutenbach on a Scheuerle InterCombi SP with 2 x 10 axle lines.

The transformer, which had the dimensions 10.2 m x 3.4 m x 4.5 m, was fixed onto the axle lines of the trailer with the help of a Scheuerle load distribution lifting device at the Amrion substation in Winnenden.

The load had to be transported through the town centre of Schwaikheim, where the hydraulic axle compensation of the Scheuerle InterCombi modules ensured secure positioning on the road.

A roundabout in the town presented a particular challenge for the heavy load, but the adjustable load distribution unit meant that the levelling of the lifting device created the required clearance to allow the transformer to negotiate the obstacle.

Designed with a 36-tonne technical axle load and driving speeds of up to 80 km/h, Scheuerle's InterCombi platform trailers are available as trailers, or semi-trailers, as well as self-propelled platform trailers with a Power Pack Unit (PPU).
