Delta Maritime gets lifeboats underway

January 7 - Delta Maritime Ltd has shipped four large lifeboats and their accessories from Piraeus, Greece to Bergen, Norway.

Delta Maritime arranged for the loading of the boats at the manufacturer's site in Thebes by cranes, as well as the special road transport and escort permits to the port of Piraeus.

Once at the Greek port, Delta Maritime handled the stuffing and securing of the cargo onto flat racks, Customs formalities and the subsequent ocean transport to Norway.

Due to their out-of-gauge dimensions, all four lifeboats were delivered in a single shipment using four 40 ft flat racks and ten 40 ft open containers.

Delta Maritime Ltd is a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) representing Greece.
