April 23 - The recent Intermodal South America event in Sao Paolo, Brazil, provided to be the perfect place for the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) to sustain its efforts to develop its presence in South American countries, which are all emerging mark

Karau also welcomed the support of WWPC's Portuguese member Alship Navegacao, which provided valuable language assistance at the WWPC booth.

WWPC also used the event as an opportunity to hold its own and 12th Annual Membership Conference; a two-day event which attracted 80 attendees, who all enjoyed presentations from sponsors and new WWPC members. The attendees can be seen in the picture below.

 

During the conference an auction was held in benefit for the AMAMOS Shelter House for Children Charity from Sao Paulo. The auctioneer, Wolfgang Spillner from Albacor Shipping, Canada, (pictured below), was able to helped to raise USD5100 for the charity; auctioning a gift voucher from Rickmers Linie for a two-person all inclusive voyage onboard one of its ships (which was bought by Mortrans, Russia); a hotel voucher for visiting Hamburg for two people, from Hansa Heavy Lift (which was bought by Leo Global Logistics, Thailand) and two large scale aircraft models of the Antonov-124-100 cargo airplane from Ruslan International (bought by Airland Logistics, Denmark and CNC Freight Services, Malaysia, respectively). Albacor Shipping USA, also made a donation separately.

 

At the event, the existing Board of Advisors for the WWPC was re-elected for another year of service and consists of:Fritz P. MumenthalerGeneral Transport AG, Switzerland; Willy Hoffmann, Albacor Shipping, USA; Patrick Lee, CNC Freight Services, Malaysia and Mohamed A.M.OsmanDarka for Trading & Services Co. Ltd., Sudan.

Spillner also won a special raffle of members and will enjoy week's holiday for two in a 5-star Bangkok Hotel - courtesy of sponsor Intuitive Logistics Resources ILR.

The WWPC network will next exhibit at the BreakBulk Europe Exhibition, in Antwerp, in May.
