September 15 - The European Commission's antitrust regulator has approved the proposed merger of Compa

The merger will create the fourth largest container liner shipping company worldwide, after Maersk, MSC and CMA CGM, said a European Commission statement.

Clearance of the venture is dependent on CSAV withdrawing from two consortia on trades between Northern Europe, the Caribbean and the South American west coast.

HLPFI reported on April 17 that the two lines would merge their activities; the resultant organisation will operate around 200 vessels and have a combined turnover of EUR9 billion (USD11.63 billion).
