January 27 - Mumbai-based project cargo forwarder Express Transport has undertaken the export and return of vital electrical equipment to India for manufacturer ABB.

The movement involved a 173-tonne 315 MVA transformer some 10 m in length being exported to Kema in the Netherlands for testing, prior to its return to India.

Express undertook appropriate Customs clearance, ocean freight between Mumbai and Antwerp, as well as unloading of the transformer and accessories from ship to a barge supplied by Kema in Belgium.

Road transport was undertaken in India to move the transformer from Vadodara to Mumbai and back utilising a 12-axle Volvo platform.
