Geodis Wilson and Caracal agree Chad deal

September 24 - The Industrial Projects division of Geodis Wilson has secured a new three-year contract with Canada's Caracal Energy.

Caracal Energy has selected Geodis Wilson as its logistics partner for the exploration of a new resource field in Chad, its primary market. Under the agreement Geodis Wilson will deliver freight forwarding services by air and sea, planning and execution of inland logistics, Customs clearance, as well as rail and road transportation through Cameroon and Chad.

According to Geodis Wilson the contract is worth approximately EUR34 million (USD45.9 million), with an option to extend the deal by a further two years.

"We are extremely proud that Caracal Energy is placing its trust in us to operate this key business for them. It underlines our capabilities in oil and gas project logistics, which is one of our biggest differentiators in the market," said Philippe Somers, senior vice president Industrial Projects, Geodis Wilson.

The next shipments relating to the Chad exploration project will take place later on this month (September).
