UK-based airship firm Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV) will establish a USA-based subsidiary to meet growing demand from a range of sectors, including cargo.
HAV USA will be led by president John Schumacher, a veteran of the US Navy, NASA and the aerospace industry. HAV US said he played a key role in revitalising Aerojet Rocketdyne and currently serves as president of the International Academy of Astronautics.
HAV is in the final stages of planning for the production of Airlander 10, its first commercial aircraft. Airlander 10 is a versatile aircraft with a modular payload design that is capable of transporting over 100 passengers or a 10-tonne payload. It can also be configured for persistent surveillance, reconnaissance and communications for national security, commercial, or disaster response.
