July 13 - Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has managed the shipment of six silos from Spain to Hong Kong.

The company's project logistics specialists in Spain chartered space on a UECC ro-ro vessel to move the silos, which each had a diameter of 4 m, as this gave a fixed transit time to destination.

The six units, which had been manufactured by the metal fabrication division of a Portuguese company, first sailed on Mafi trailers from the Spanish Port of Vigo to Bremerhaven where they were transhipped onto a deep-sea ship bound for Hong Kong.

They were the final consignment of some 3,000 tonnes of freight handled by Hellman Worldwide Logistics in Spain for an oil refinery in Hong Kong.

Hellmann's project logistics services include multiple cargo handling, technical and engineered solutions including totally customised transfers of plant and machinery, as well as managing multimodal movement of over-dimensional and heavy equipment for clients in the mining, energy, construction and oil and gas industries.
