Associated British Ports (ABP) has started construction works on the first phase of its major Humber development at its Helm @ Immingham site.
Described as “the most significant development of its kind in the region for decades”, the first stage will see eight units developed, ranging in size up to 26,797 sq ft (2,490 sq m). These are targeted at SMEs active in the energy sector, port logistics, engineering, manufacturing and distribution.

Helm @ Immingham is expected to be developed further, with 1.1 million sq ft (102,193 sq m) of logistics and manufacturing space available, along with 90 acres (36.4 ha) of open storage with onsite renewable energy generation.
Referred to previously as Pioneer Business Park (PBP), the site has historically been used as agricultural farmland and is positioned directly adjacent to the A180 dual carriageway, leading to Grimsby and local motorway networks. The site is also connected to the Humber Link Road, the port connection road that links Immingham and Grimsby.
HLPFI reported earlier this month that Stena Line and ABP will start work on a new ro-ro terminal at the port of Immingham.
