October 31 - Horizon Terminal Services has commenced operations at the Port of Jacksonville in Florida, USA.

Horizon's new terminal comprises of 27 acres (10.9 ha) of land in front of the main pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) berth on Blount Island.

The terminal operator, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Höegh Autoliners, plans to continue developing infrastructure at its Jacksonville site for the handling of new and used automobiles, as well as high and heavy equipment and project cargoes.

This is the third terminal Horizon has opened in the USA in just over a year, with the other two facilities located in Port Everglades, Florida and Freeport, Texas. The company operates seven terminals in total, including its Fast Terminals locations in the Caribbean and Central America.
